There are an estimated 23,500 children and young people who are
not expected to reach adulthood. Together for Short
Lives is the voice for all these children, young people and
their families - as well as the organisations and people that
support them. We are here to ensure that every life-limited and
life-threatened child, young person and their family gets the best
possible care and support from the moment of diagnosis, wherever
they live and as long as they need it. We:
- Define and share the best practice to enable the highest
standard of children's palliative care
- Support the development of sustainable children's palliative
care
- Help to develop those who provide health, education and social
care support to life-limited children, young people and their
families
- Make sure that families know about care and support available
to them and give them a say in shaping the services they use
- Raise awareness of the needs of children, young people and
their families requiring palliative care
